Our principle
Cassie Capture is local-first. Page captures, temporary image frames, and PDF generation are processed in your browser and on your device. They are not uploaded to a Cassie Capture server.
Data the extension processes
When you explicitly start a capture, the extension reads visible content, page dimensions, scroll position, and scroll-container information from the active tab. It uses Chrome's capture API to create image frames. It also stores your JPEG quality, PDF chunk size, and frame-limit preferences.
Local storage and retention
Image frames are written temporarily to browser IndexedDB for PDF generation. The extension removes a job's temporary frames after successful export or an aborted task. Preferences remain in Chrome local storage until you change them, clear extension data, or uninstall the extension.
Sharing and sale
Cassie Capture does not sell, rent, or share captured content, browsing history, or extension preferences with advertisers or data brokers. The extension contains no advertising tracker.
Why permissions are needed
activeTab and scripting analyze and scroll only the page you invoke the extension on; downloads saves generated PDFs or images; storage and unlimitedStorage hold preferences and temporary long-capture frames; offscreen enables local PDF generation in Manifest V3.
